Energy Specialist, World Bank Group
Myoe Myint joined World Bank as an Energy Specialist at Yangon office in October 2015. Myoe brought about 20 years of working experience in energy project development in Southeast Asian, Latin American and North American countries. Before joining the bank, he worked as Executive Director of MyanAmer, a start-up company, promoting US investment and technology in energy projects in Asian emerging markets. Myoe has worked for ITOCHU Corporation in both Yangon and New York for 11 years in various capacities where he involved in $7.2 billion acquisition of upstream oil and gas investment, $ 500 million investment in the development of LPG export terminal, $ 800 million investment in renewable biofuel production in both North and South America. He has worked as an Economic Consultant at the Embassy of Japan in Myanmar. He specializes in the study of energy sector development in Myanmar and his research papers on regional energy cooperation were published by Asia Review (Bangkok), CSIRD (Kolkata) and International Burma Studies Conferences (Marseille and Singapore). Myoe Myint is a World Bank scholar holding a Master of Public Administration with a concentration in International Energy Management and Policy from Columbia University, New York, in 2007, a Master of Business Administration from Yangon Institute of Economics in 2001 and a Bachelor of Engineering (Electronics) from Yangon Institute of Technology in 1995.
