He graduated from RIT with B.E. (Mech.) in 1971 and served in Myanmar Defence Industries up to the rank of colonel and retired in 2007. He served in the following posts: 1. Senior Superintendent (Defense Industries) 2. Asso. Prof. (Defence Services Institute of Technology), 3. Chairman (Renewable Energy Technology Committee), Yangon Division Government, 4. CEC Member and Chairman (Energy and Renewable Energy Committee) and Bio (Fuels and Industrial Engineering Technical Divisions), Myanmar Engineering Society, 5. Director (Engineering), Myanma Economic Holdings Ltd., 6. Member, Energy Development Committee (Myanmar National Energy Management Committee), Government of Myanmar, 7. Managing Director and later Chairman of Myanmar International Consultants (MMIC) Co. Ltd., 8. Managing Director, WAFE Myanmar Engineering Services Co. Ltd.
